The Eagles have three big name players that are set to be free agents within the next two years. Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin are set to be free agents before next season and Jason Avant is to become a free agent after next season...that is if he is still an Eagle.
The Eagles are currently focused on making a new, multi-year contract with Cooper. Cooper, who became well-known this season, both on and off the field, had 47 catches, and 8 touchdowns, while he replaced the injured Jeremy Maclin. At age 27, Cooper looked good last season, catching passes, moving the chains, and taking some secondary pressure off of other receivers. With Foles as the starting QB, Cooper had 742 yards on 39 passes with 7 TDs. That said, it is obvious that Chip and the Eagles are eager to make a deal to keep him with Foles.
Maclin, who has proved himself as a decent receiver in previous years, is rumored to gain a one-year contract from the Eagles. Avant on the other hand, who actually has one more year on his contract, is rumored to possibly be getting released by the Eagles, before he would receive his roster bonus next month.
