I was not a member of A.I.G.A. until this past year, and as a designer I must say that I am at fault for not joining sooner. A.I.G.A. otherwise known as the American Institute of Graphic Arts is a very inspirational and important organization for graphic designers, copywriter, advertisers, typographers and illustrators. It provides countless workshops and other tools such as mentorship and annual events like “Feedback” and "Masquerade."
As I started to volunteer for A.I.G.A. Philly I got to meet some great people and I also got to attend some amazing events.
My personal favorite is the event “Night Caps” which takes place in a little coffee shop, United By Blue on 2nd Street and Arch in Fishtown. This is a sit-down podcast that goes on for 1.5 hours and provides very useful information about all graphic fields. If you are a designer or just interested in learning more about Graphic Design, I would highly recommend listening to the three Night Cap interviews below.
