Coming off of a very close game against the New York Rangers, the Flyers are set to continue their streak and prove they are a force to be reckoned with. Although many people spend their time talking about football, basketball, or baseball, hockey has always had a cult following and the Flyers are a team that definitely help with that conversation.
What is interesting to note about the Philadelphia Flyers is that they were one of the first expansion teams to win the Stanley Cup in the post-Original era. They have been around for about 50 years and continue to be a great team to follow. This season, for instance, they hold a record of 4-2-1, with 16 goals for and 18 goals against. Coach Dave Hakstol continues to move their team to victory with impressive play calling and strategic switching. They also had a waiver in the first of this month, October, involving Chris Porter, who was claimed by the Minnesota Wild. They signed several new players this year and show no signs of letting the shift in structure impact their performance.
The Philadelphia Flyers have had a few milestones this year already, as soon as the season started. Evgeny Medvedev saw his first NHL game, career point, and career assist, Claude Giroux had his 500th career NHL game, and Steve Mason had his 20,000th career minute. These are just a few of the accolades that the Philadelphia Flyers have under their belt, and with the season just starting, there are sure to be many more from them.
