Flyers sign Vincent Lecavalier

July 02, 2013

The Philadelphia Flyers added a longtime foe Tuesday evening after it was reported that the club had signed Vincent Lecavalier to deal that is reportedly $23.5 million over 5 years. That's right, 5 years for a 33-year old.

As the story developed, Pierre LeBrun reported that there was a "no move" clause in Lecavalier's contract with the Flyers.

There's a buzz on Twitter about the contract and what is means for the Flyers moving into next season, especially it's youth. The supposed "youth movement" in Philadelphia suffered a set back with this signing, especially for a deal that is for 5 years for a 33 -year forward. Lecavalier's contract is a cap hit of $4.5 million for the Flyers and rumors are beginning to form that Coburn could be on the move soon.
